Also known as Hawkeswood, the Hairy Claw Flower is a small evergreen shrub with grey-green needle-like foliage, creating a soft smokey appearance. The flowers are red with a unique claw shape. Hairy Clay Flower is a slow-growing shrub but will become a gorgeous feature in the garden.

Scientific name: Calothamnus hirsutus

Plant size: 1 metre high x 1.5 metres wide

Sun Light: Full sun and Part shade

Plant Care: Fertilise in Spring with a native organic fertiliser. Remove flower heads after flowering. Prune to maintain shape.

Best native plants ever

I was given a certificate for Christmas to a native plant yard I had never heard of. Wow when looking at the website I couldn't decide which plants to buy so I bought pretty much bought one of each. On delivery the plants looked exactly like their photos on the website. Once planted, the garden came alive with colour, fragrance and all shapes and sizes.
I have just had my second delivery of plants today and again I couldn't be more pleased with the plants and the amazing conditions they arrived in. Each plant seems to be given personal love and attention..
I will be back again and I couldn't give enough praise for the plants but especially all the hard working, kind team that make up Snippys yard.
